Fable 3 Disaster

Its a bit late, but I didn't play Fable 3 til this weekend so I could start fresh with the gf. And Fable 3.. you disappoint me.

No split screen gaming, and unlike Live gameplay where your party member could be on the other side of the map, you're binded to be 3 meters away from each other.

The graphics, though pretty, seemed to blur frequently; say when you shot your pistol, it would blur.. which just feels weird.

You told me that this game was going to be fantastic, now just look it it!

No health bar... couldn't tell what kind of potions we were using (summon/slow time/heal)

We both got naseous from playing from the way in which the camera worked (and probably the blurring)

Interacting with others require a separate 'instance' with them. So instead of Fable 2 where you could interact with a huge group of people, you can only interact with one person at a time. And the interactions all look the same; its either the basic interaction or more elaborate (but stupid looking).

Questions I put out there:
If I can use a pistol, or a one handed sword, i should be able to either wield a shield with it, another pistol, or another sword. What am I doing with my other hand?

Pleassseeee play our gameeeeee!!! We'll pay you!

Why does a King/Queen of the realm need to make Pies (yeah) to make money? It doesn't make sense. Also why do they have to do small errands for their subjects?

With all this being said.. I would NOT recommend this game.
Did you try it? Do you like it?

Zombie Alice

Busy busy busy days.. very little time to write anything and have the brainpower at home to write. Fable 3 is out tomorrow (or depending when you read this, today). Can't get that yet, spent alot of money on photography related items and going on a trip in January.
Fallout New Vegas is very fun. Deceptively big; alot of large instanced areas. I did get stuck at one point looking for a medical equipment for Caesar.... so i made a new guy.

What would my blog be without a link to
some cosplay? This time from BlizzCon.

Sneaky sneaky.

As a guy, one would naturally cringe at the thought of going to a baby shower, or an all girl birthday party and being the only guy. I've been pleasantly surprised with the great time i've had. Maybe because I was the main photographer, but they're not always man-killing events.

Alice in Wonderland theme if you're wondering.

Life is all about trade-offs. To get something, you need to sacrifice something else. By going to the all-girl party, I missed the Toronto Zombie Walk where people dress up as zombies and walk around the downtown core. This apparently took place in Australia as well.

Instead of photos of zombies, I got pictures of girls.. good trade off :D

Fable 3 - TOR Vids

I don't want to give away a spoiler.. soo.. watch it first.. (sorry couldn't get the embed code)
TOR Vid
Fable 3 Vid

I propose a question:
In this day and age, would a mech be a viable war machine? Or are there current technologies are that better and more efficient?

---------------------------------------------------------------

Now that you've hopefully watched the TOR video; I just wanted to say how I totally cringed when I watched the Jedi fight the Sith, hoping it wouldn't be another vid of the Sith winning. And what a courageous trooper letting an explosive go off point blank to take out the Sith.

In regards to the Fable 3 vid, I wonder whether if you pick to play a woman, whether your opponent/enemy will be a Queen instead.. that would be good.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

While looking for a wedding photographer for my best friend Hunter, one of the photographer's blogs had this video..

I can't imagine anyone being able to beat this.. wonder if I can..

Gotta Collect Them All

I've only bought a few collector's editions for games in my lifetime.. the most recent one I can think of is Warhammer Online.. came with alot of fluff (but I suppose thats what they all are).. what I liked the most was the art book and the comic book introduction.

I love Fable 2.. don't have the time to go back the original Fable, and totally plan to get Fable 3. Its coming out for both PC and 360.. and I love the PC... but i'd be missing out on the achievements (haven't touched the 360 in over a month).. and this

The article found here at
Kotaku.

Patty, Soto and I went to Montreal the other weekend for a photo extravaganza and here is one of my favorites:

This was in the Old Port area; it was just so odd, all the streets were empty, the office buildings all darkened, and then there is this one window brightly lit in red.

Anime North in Toronto is FINALLY upon us. All the info is here.

Its this weekend, Fri-Sun. Different times each day.. either 35-40$ entrance fee and bring extra money for the prints (THA PRINTS!!! **droools**) Free parking at the back of most hotels. I'll probably be going on Sunday.

Spawn-camping

Is it (spawn-camping) a natural part of gameplay, or should the impact be lessened whenever possible?

I was reading the article by
Vauleen on Nordenwatch, and he (?) talks about how the warcamp guards tend to be unresponsive and don't prevent spawn camping too much. I absolutely agree, either side Destro/Order can easily be spawn camped if one team is significantly weaker/disorganized/etc. I've played the scenario alot and you rarely see the guards move.. partially from good aiming, but also b/c they're really deep in the camp.

Fyi, I received an email that the Warhammer steins have been pushed back to August.. err.. this is not an mmo.. this is an mmo stein.. **shakes his head**

I love to push the enemy back to their spawn and keep them there. I rarely get bored of it, though there is less challenge to it and that can make it boring and sometimes if i was on the vent, i would suggest moving back and roar back to wipe them instead of just taking pot shots and taking one out at a time. Poor Tanks and mdps who are probably pretty bored. And I obviously hate it when i get spawn camped and wish our side would gather the courage to rush right at them and go for their squishies.. but that rarely happens.

The only solution I would have is for the game to be able to tell how many characters are behind a certain point and push the guards farther out or possibly create a roving group of guards similar to orvr infront of warcamps with high agro that would chase enemy spawn campers. Is it feasible? Well the game can tell where you die b/c your body drops in the general area, and the game can tell distances through spells both offensive and defensive. To make it tell where you are on the map, all stuck in your own camp, should trigger an event similar in quests or pqs to spawn some roving guards or to move them forward/increase their agro.

Poor Playstation..

Always left out of the party (only for 360 and PC). At first it was a 'ho-hum' reaction, but thinking about it more gets me more excited; Fable 2 was a fantastic game. Developers are normally passionate about their games, but the people at Lionhead seems especially fanatical.
