2011 Comic Con

I haven't played/thought of Borderlands for such a long time, that I nearly missed this from the (San Fran?) Comic Con 2011:

Go here for more photos. Yay cosplay ;)
There should be Fan Expo at the end of August in Toronto which I intend on taking some photos for practice!

Wait.. its only Tuesday

I pose a question, does a mmo developer bring out more than one title b/c the other's aren't as successful, or b/c they want to capitalize on as many niches as possible?

You've got Cryptic who just announced they're working on a D&D: Neverwinter Nights mmo, when they already have their Champions Online and Star Trek Online games which wasn't as popular as they expected. And then you've got ArenaNet that has for the longest time only concentrated on Guild Wars and are currently creating GW2.

Blizzard has WoW obviously and is so successful they just need to bring out expansions every year... for now; and they're technically linked with Activision which owns Mythic/Bioware which is working on Warhammer Online. Mythic techincally does have UO and DAoC, but I think its different b/c those are very old games.

I hope the Cryptic's Neverwinter Nights mmo is an amazing success, and i'll try to get into the beta and do alot of research on it, but with Cryptic's current track record, I don't think this will be good for the series. Stick with one major title, develop it, grow it, maintain it. Don't spread resources, talent and time on many different projects/mmos otherwise you're just stuck with alot of so-so games and unsatisfied customers.

Anyways..
cosplay from Gamescon.

And an even hotter
cosplay model.

Lastly, if you can stop staring...FanExpo this weekend in Toronto; ill be there Saturday!

Protest against This!

Read up how the Westboro Baptist Church went to the San Diego Comic Con and found a counter-protest waiting for them.

Constructive Mondays

Lots and lots of things to do today...

Played DDO with Capo last night over vent; tons of fun. Still loving the reserved items in all chests; Capo gets his designated stuff, and I get mine. No fighting, no ninja looting, or looting during battle. The hirelings in the game is iffy; sometimes they know where to go, othertimes they wait in the back ranks watching the combat. Got my Drow Rogue to lvl ... 3... last night. Lol. It seems (and i love it) that it is gonna take ages to lvl up even with consistent gaming. But thats the charm of DDO and D&D in general, there is no rush to lvl 20; its the journey not the destination.

Next Fan Expo is coming up...

Is it Friday Yet?

Had to remove some bloggers today from teh blogroll; I don't understand, nor like it. You blog so frequently and then just one day you stop entirely. No word of warning or anything. Just silence and we never hear anything again. I know you don't have to nor are obligated to, but it would be nice to say bye. Just like in mmo's.. my friends tend be hardcore and play 5+ hours a day, every day and one day just stop playing and don't even let you know that they're done.

/le sigh

Instead of playing Puzzle Quest 2 at work during the night shift, I found some pin-up art on io9.com. Very cool stuff. Take a look.

Gotta Collect Them All

I've only bought a few collector's editions for games in my lifetime.. the most recent one I can think of is Warhammer Online.. came with alot of fluff (but I suppose thats what they all are).. what I liked the most was the art book and the comic book introduction.

I love Fable 2.. don't have the time to go back the original Fable, and totally plan to get Fable 3. Its coming out for both PC and 360.. and I love the PC... but i'd be missing out on the achievements (haven't touched the 360 in over a month).. and this

The article found here at
Kotaku.

Patty, Soto and I went to Montreal the other weekend for a photo extravaganza and here is one of my favorites:

This was in the Old Port area; it was just so odd, all the streets were empty, the office buildings all darkened, and then there is this one window brightly lit in red.

Anime North in Toronto is FINALLY upon us. All the info is here.

Its this weekend, Fri-Sun. Different times each day.. either 35-40$ entrance fee and bring extra money for the prints (THA PRINTS!!! **droools**) Free parking at the back of most hotels. I'll probably be going on Sunday.

Reasons

To go to an anime convention:

1. The art

2. The cosplayers

3. The cosplayers!

Happy 150th Blog Entry!

I wasn't paying attention, but I've apparently surpassed a set milestone of 100 entries earlier this year, so I figured we can celebrate my 150th instead, cake and kahlua for everyone!
Its interesting at looking back at what i've written. I'm extremely proud of the site and love the blogging community and found that blogging is my passion, with this
first entry quote being the heart of what my blog is about:

//At one employee meeting, there was an anonymous comment that everyone was up in arms about (that they disagreed with). I couldn't stand it.

"Hey guys, first off, I'm not the person that wrote that."
/everyone laughs
"But why not try looking at it as ____________ ?"
/some agree and the tense situation is averted

I've found that my site has grown and developed from a tome unlock help guide to a diaspora of:

off-topic ones, as they are always a fun distraction

guest entries as they are always an honor to show
